CoolPeel is a CO2 laser treatment designed around a simple idea: get the surface-renewing effect of a CO2 peel without the heat that causes a week of healing. It uses very short, high-energy pulses that remove the top layer of damaged skin cleanly, so there is minimal thermal injury to the tissue underneath. You leave looking like you have a mild sunburn, and by the second or third day you are back to normal.

How CoolPeel works
Traditional CO2 resurfacing delivers energy over a longer pulse, which vaporizes tissue and also heats the deeper dermis. That heat is where the strong collagen response comes from, and it is also where the downtime comes from. CoolPeel uses a specialized CO2 platform that delivers the energy in pulses measured in microseconds. The surface is ablated, dead and damaged cells are removed, and the skin is left to regenerate fresh, but the dermis is barely heated. The trade-off is intentional: less dramatic single-treatment change, far less recovery, and the ability to repeat it easily.
What it treats
- Rough or uneven texture and enlarged pores
- Fine lines, especially around the eyes and mouth
- Sun damage, dullness and mild pigment irregularity
- Superficial acne scarring
- Maintenance after a full CO2 treatment, or for patients who cannot take a week off

CoolPeel or full CO2 resurfacing?
Both are on our menu, next to each other for a reason. If your concern is deep lines, real acne scarring or heavy sun damage, full fractional CO2 will get you further in one treatment, and the week of healing is worth it. If your concern is texture, pores, early lines and overall glow, or you simply cannot be red for a week, CoolPeel gives you a meaningful share of the result with almost none of the recovery. Many patients combine them: one full CO2, then CoolPeel once or twice a year to maintain.
What to expect
Before. A consultation with Dr. Darvish to confirm you are a candidate and to set a plan, often as part of a broader skin program with IPL, peels or neuromodulators. Stop retinoids a few days before and avoid tanning.
During. Topical numbing for 20 to 30 minutes, then a treatment of five to fifteen minutes. It feels like warm pinpricks.
After. Redness like a mild sunburn, with some dryness or light flaking for a day or two. Most patients wear makeup the next day. Sunscreen daily, and no retinoids until the skin feels normal.
Results and maintenance
Skin looks brighter within a few days and texture keeps improving over a few weeks as new collagen forms. A series of two or three treatments, a month apart, gives the best result, with a maintenance session every six to twelve months. CoolPeel pairs well with IPL for redness and brown spots and with Forma for tightening.

Frequently asked questions
How is CoolPeel different from a regular CO2 laser?
It uses ultra-short pulses that remove the surface without heating the deeper skin, so recovery is one to two days instead of about a week. Full CO2 goes deeper and does more per treatment.
Does CoolPeel hurt?
Numbing cream makes it comfortable. Most patients describe warm pinpricks. Afterward the skin feels like a mild sunburn for a day.
How many treatments will I need?
Two or three a month apart for the best result, then maintenance every six to twelve months. Some patients are happy after one.
Is CoolPeel safe for darker skin tones?
It is gentler than full CO2, but any CO2 laser needs caution with deeper skin tones. Dr. Darvish will tell you honestly whether it is right for you or whether Fractora is the safer choice.
When can I wear makeup?
Usually the next day, once the skin has calmed.
Can CoolPeel be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is often paired with IPL for pigment and redness, with Forma for tightening, and with neuromodulators and fillers as part of a comprehensive plan.
What areas can be treated?
Face, neck, chest and hands. The face is the most common.
How much does CoolPeel cost?
Pricing depends on the area and the number of sessions. You get a clear quote at your complimentary consultation.
